Worship & Creative Arts – ministry summaries
Creativity is embedded in every aspect of ministry and is incorporated fully in our services through video, sound, arts, production, multimedia, dramas and the list goes on.

Worship

Our three goals : sing His praise | hear His voice | know His presence

Yes, our worship is relevant to culture we live in today. Above all is our desire to communicate a passion for God!

Sing His Praise Ps 150

    Praise the LORD! Praise God in His sanctuary;
    Praise Him in His mighty firmament! Praise Him for His mighty acts;
    Praise Him according to His excellent greatness!
    Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet;
    Praise Him with the lute and harp! Praise Him with the timbrel and dance;
    Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes!
    Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with clashing cymbals!
    Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
    Praise the LORD!

Hear His Voice Zech 3:17

    The LORD your God in your midst,
    The Mighty One, will save;
    He will rejoice over you with gladness,
    He will quiet you with His love,
    He will rejoice over you with singing.

Know His Presence Ps 84:4,10

    Blessed are those who dwell in Your house;
    They will still be praising You.
    For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand.
    I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
    Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.

Purpose of the Worship Ministry

Cultivate a worshipful environment

We accomplish this by doing the following:

  • Pastor the hearts of our volunteers and of the congregation. (i.e. discipleship training, teaching series during main services)
  • Always pushing the envelope. We always challenge ourselves to be on the cutting edge of what God is doing in the church. We don’t fall into tradition for tradition’s sake or what we call “habitual worship.”
  • Aim to please the heart of God. Worship is not a format to please man.

Being culturally relevant

We accomplish this by doing the following:

  • Stay current with fresh and anointed worship songs from the mainstream arena as well as composing original works.
  • Do what works. One of our purposes is to connect the hearts of people to the heart of God.
  • Use the gifts “we” have. Our style of music and song selection is based upon the level of ability and the style represented by the musicians and singers currently part of the team at any given time.

Connect the hearts of the people to the heart of God

    As a primary focus, we have to give people an opportunity to communicate, or facilitate their worship to God. Our motivation as a ministry is not to be great, but for people to come to a realization of a Great God.

Drama “Acts II”

Mark 4:33 (NLT) - He used many such stories and illustrations to teach the people as much as they were able to to understand.

As part of the creative arts department at The Father’s House, our drama ministry, ACTS II, strives to give real and meaningful illustrations that communicate the heart of God effectively. With the use of productions, video and play-acting, we use real-life situations to communicate and sometimes humor to speak out God’s word.

God is the creator of creativity. We value the arts at The Father’s House and are committed to continue pursuing new and fresh ways to communicate God’s passion for His people.

Technical

Lights….camera…Praise God!! We are not shy about making the name of our God glorious. During a service, we use all available means to create a fresh and relevant environment in which we can proclaim the greatness of our God.

Psalm 66:2 “Sing out the honor of His name; Make His praise glorious.”

We have various teams of incredible volunteers that serve in our technical areas of ministry. Some of those areas are lighting, sound, multimedia, video (camera operators and productions assistants), service directors and CD/Tape duplication. We also have volunteers that help us to edit and create relevant video clips almost weekly for use in our services.

In Exodus 26, the Tabernacle of Moses, God’s dwelling place is described in great detail. It gives an elaborate plan where creativity was pinnacle. The use of distinct colors, designs, elaborate and expensive materials and the creation of a truly unique atmosphere set the tone for worship in the days of the Old Testament. The same holds true today. “Our God is great and greatly to be praised!”

If you walk into our auditorium and see smoke, it may be the glory of God, hopefully it’s not a fire, but it’s probably our hazer, or “fog machine” running.

Media / Broadcast

We take seriously the call of God to go beyond the four, “or more” walls of the church. One of the ways we do this is through the distribution of various media, i.e. CD’s, tapes, DVD and broadcast via television and web-streaming.

Our auditorium is equipped with three broadcast quality cameras, SDI digital feed and switching and a fully equipped Digidesign Avid editing suite. In addition we endeavor to provided CD and DVD media of our live worship experience as well as great teaching resources available in our media store as well as purchasing and/or streaming online.
